Efficiently drilling large hole is easy, when using a Gerfa piloted cutter. Gerfa cutters produce a smooth round hole in the right place with the right diameter at the right price. Any diameter hole can be selected within the range of 40.1 till 150 mm. Only 7 sizes of arbors cover the full range of these cutters.

Piloted cutters are made of cobalt high speed steel of superior quality. The are fully ground with spiral flanks, have 150º point angles and chip breaker grooves. The spiral ground form of the cutters eliminates the need for re-grinding fixtures; the cutting face itself only having to be taken back. This can be done many times without loss of diameter.

The use of piloted cutters gives the following advantages:

  • Rapid metal removing
  • Effective chip clearance
  • Easily reground
  • Long life. The cutter can be repeatedly reground until almost none remains
  • After regrinding the drilling length stays the same
